TRAIN THE TRAINER | “The art and the science of spiritual care”

This is a course developed by Nurses Christian Fellowship International to equip Christian nurses to train others to identify and address spirituality in a variety of settings for any patient coming from various religious/spiritual belief and backgrounds.

The course covers four areas and the TEACHING MANUAL that accompanies the curriculum will be used to provide additional “how to teach” the content.
By the end of this course the participants will be able to:

1. Apply the content of NCFI Spiritual Care Curriculum to their nursing practice
2. Teach the NCFI Care Curriculum to other nurses in classroom settings

Wednesday 20th November
09.30 – 12.00: Session 1: Spiritual Care overview: Content and mandate
13.30 – 16.00: Session 2: Spiritual Assessment
17.00 – 19.00: Session 3: Spiritual Interventions

Thursday 21st November
09.00 – 12.00: Session 4: Overcoming barriers in Spiritual Care. Evaluation

Teachers will be Tove Giske (RN, MSN, PhD) and Marte Bygstad-Landro (BSN, MSN, PhD-candiate), both from Haraldsplass Deaconess University College, Bergen Norway.
