Research Centre for Science and Technology of the Arts - CITAR

CITAR (Research Centre in Science and Technology of the Arts) began its activity 2004 as an Academic Research Unit of the School of Arts – Catholic University of Portugal in Porto, that fosters interdisciplinary collaboration and promotes theoretical research and applied to artistic production. With 130 researchers, CITAR is structured in 4 areas: Digital Arts (Audio-visuals and Cinematic Arts; Computer Music; Interactive Art); Study and Conservation of Cultural Heritage (Decorative Arts, Conservation of Cultural Heritage; Cultural Heritage; Art History of the 20th century in Portugal); Musical Studies (Performance Studies; Sacred Music; Portuguese Musical Heritage) and Theory of Arts. At the last assessment CITAR raised its rating to Very Good.
