She was the founder president of the European Association of Service-Learning in Higher Education (2019-2022) and founder director of the European Observatory of Service-Learning in Higher Education (2019-2022). She is Coordinator of the Service-Learning Unit-UAM of CIVIS (a European civic university consortium). From 2014 to 2017 she led the European project "Europe Engage-Developing a Culture of Civic Engagement through Service-Learning within Higher Education in Europe”. She coordinates the Spanish teams in the Erasmus+ KA2 “NB-LAB: Nature-based living-lab for interdisciplinary practical and research semester on sustainable development and environmental protection in the Amazonia Rainforest” (2020-2023)”, and “Service-Learning: Intersectoral Collaboration Practices for the development of students´ soft skills and socially engaged universities” “(SL-ICP) (2022-2024). Her work has been recognized with awards and mentions, such as the nomination as a member of the Academy of Community Engagement Scholarship (ACES) in 2021, the Distinction for effort and dedication in teacher training on the Service-Learning methodology of the Complutense University of Madrid in 2019, and the recognition of the General Directorate of Education, Youth, Sports and Culture of the European Commission as a "Success Story" for the leadership of the European project "Europe Engage" in 2018. |

Her academic background is in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Coimbra) with a PhD in Biotechnology (Food Science and Technology from ESB-UCP). She leads the Nutrition and Health Lab at CBQF and is interested in multifunctionalization of food with pro/prebiotics within the advent of microbiome and health; valorization of marine resources, cereals and legumes; bioactive lipids characterization and biological validation; microencapsulation. Has coordinated/collaborated with many national and international interdisciplinary research activities (+30 projects including education projects), is a keen advocate of scientific research communication and outreach activities, and involved in evaluation committees, lecturing and student supervision. |
 Carmo Themudo Universidade Católica Portuguesa Portugal | She is graduated in Management in 1995 and has worked at the Universidade Católica - Porto since then. Initially linked to the Department of Communication and Public Relations, today she is dedicated to the Coordination of the Unit for the Integral Development of the Person.  Célia Manaia Universidade Católica Portuguesa Faculty of Biotechnology Portugal | Background in Biochemistry and Microbiology and teaches in the areas of Microbiology and Genetics. For more than 20 year she has been investigating the threats posed to water quality and safety due to pollution, mainly antibiotic resistant bacteria (https://www.cbqf.esb.ucp.pt/en/docentes-celia-manaia-en). As a researcher interested in the global context that influences worldwide water quality and accessibility, she regards each of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals as intersected pieces of a whole that cannot be implemented alone. Thus, as a Vice-Chair of the Porto Regional Centre of Universidade Católica Portuguesa she is committed to be part of an international and interdisciplinary think tank that show case the role of Universities as promotors of social responsibility. |

 Filipe Martins Universidade Católica Portuguesa ATES - Transversal Area of Social Economy Portugal | Graduated in Anthropology from Universidade Nova de Lisboa and PhD in Urban Anthropology from ISCTE-IUL, he later carried out post-doctoral studies in Educational Sciences at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Porto, where he is a visiting professor and a researcher. He is also a regular contributor of ATES - Transversal Area of Social Economy at the same University, where he coordinates the area of social impact evaluation. He has been involved, promoted or evaluated different research, training and intervention socio-educational projects in Cape Verde and Portugal, in the search for learning paths and contexts that promote the inclusion, participation and development of all people, and especially of vulnerable young people. |

She is currently an Associate Professor in Criminal Law at the Porto School of Law of Universidade Católica Portuguesa, which she joined in 1989, and a fellow of the CEID - Católica Research Centre for the Future of Law. She received her Master degree and her Ph.D. in Criminal Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Her research and teaching interests relate to criminal law, health law, and elder law.
