Susana Costa e Silva

Susana holds a PhD in Marketing (University College de Dublin, Ireland) and an MSc in Economics (Porto Faculty of Economics). Graduate in Management (Catholic University of Portugal). Lecturer at School of Economics and Management, Susana teaches in the fields of Marketing, International Marketing, Internationalization, Multichannel Marketing and Social Marketing. 
She is active as visiting professor at University of Saint Joseph (Macao, China), University of Wroclaw (Poland) and Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (São paulo, Brazil). 
Director of the MSc in Marketing at School of Economics and Management. Researcher at CEGE. Author of the book “Internacionalização e Redes de Empresas” (Verbo, 2003), co-author of the book “O marketing Internacional” (Principia, 1999). 
She is also the author of several book chapters published in Portugal, UK, USA and Brazil and she has been presenting papers in international conferences in Marketing and International Business fields. 
She published in international journals in the same fields. Susana is also a consultant in Marketing and International Business. She writes regularly for Marketeer and HiperSuper. 
She is affiliated to European International Business Academy, where she is  National Representative for Portugal since December 2013.

 

Leonor Sopas

Guest Assistant Professor in the School of Economics and Management, Portuguese Catholic University, Porto, since 1991 (International Economics, Business Economics, International Management, Applied Project in International Management, Project in Economics, in the management degree and economics degree, International Business in the Master in Management, the Post-graduate programme in Management for Lawyers and International Business in the MBA).
Assistant to the Secretary of State for Competitiveness and Internationalization, 1996-1997.
Staff of the Center of Studies in Management and Applied Economics, Portuguese Catholic University,1991-1996. Technical assistant to the Executive Commission of the Integrated Development Operation in Ave Valley,1991-1995. Coordination of the Scientific Team of Supervisors in the International Stage Programme Contacto@icep,2002-2006.
Participation in several business missions to evaluate competition and cooperation opportunities in Eastern European countries and in India, 2004-2006.

 

 

Ricardo Morais

Ricardo Morais is professor of Management and Strategy as well as coordinator of the MSc in Management at Catholic University of Portugal in Porto, coordinator of the Eden seminar "How to design your PhD" at EIASM - European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management, in Brussels, and founder of Idea Puzzle (www.ideapuzzle.com). He holds a PhD in strategic management from the University of Jyväskylä (first Portuguese PhD in Finland in Social Sciences) and graduated in Management from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto. His research interests include critical realism, theory development, and multinational management. Since 2002, he has lectured these topics in more than 50 universities in 11 countries. He is a member of the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Academy of International Business. Since 1996 he has founded three start-ups, in Brazil, in Finland and in Portugal, and was consultant in projects for the European Commission, Revenio Group, Sonae Industria, INESC Porto, Portuguese Government and Deloitte.

 

 

Vítor Corado Simões

Vítor Corado Simões is professor at ISEG – Instituto Superior de Economia e Gestão (University of Lisbon). His main research areas are International Management and Innovation Management, namely MNCs, MNC subsidiaries, and Born Globals. He coordinated the research project on COTEC Portugal Innovative SME Network (2010), and been member of the international evaluation team of research at the University of Uppsala (2012). He has a large international experience as consultant to OECD, UNIDO, and the European Commission (chair of the CREST/EU Working Group on SMEs and Innovation, and member of the advisory team to DGRI on Regional Innovation Strategies – 2013). He has been involved in PROINNO/ TrendChart on Innovation and is now correspondent to the Observatory on Research and Innovation policies. Professor Simões served as President of the European International Business Academy in 1993, and is now member of the Fellows of the Academy.

 

 

 

Juan Durán

Juan J.  Durán is Professor at the Universidad Autonóma de Madrid. At this University he has served  as: Dean at the School of Economics and Business (1886-1992); Director of the Finance Department (19769-1885); Director of the Centro Internacional CarlosV (1994-2005; and  President of its  Academic Council (2006-present). He is also founder (1989) and President (1992) of the  Asociación Científica de Economía y Dirección de la Empresa (ACEDE) and Editor (and founder) of its Journal :Cuadernos de Economía y Dirección de la Empresa (CEDE) (1995-2006). At present, he is the editor of Revista de Responsabilidad Social de la Empresa  (Corporate Social Responsibility) (2009-present). Besides he is member of several scientific committees of Spanish and foreign journals.

Research areas: Multinational firms, foreign Direct Investment, international finance, corporate social responsibility. He has published 20 books and is the author of several book chapters published in Spanish and English languages as well as of several articles in national and international journals.  Professor Durán served as  member of the Board (1986-2007) and President (1990) of the European International Business Academy, and is now member of the Fellows of the Academy (since 2006). He was also Chairman of the European Western-Europe Chair, Academy of International Business (AIB) (2001-2006). Member of the Board of the International Federation of Scholarly Associations of Management (IFSAM). Also he has served on the boards of various companies and foundations. He has receive several awards, specially la Encomienda con placa de la Orden de Alfonso X El Sabio. 

 

Ana Teresa Lehmann

Ana Teresa T. Lehmann is Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Economics, University of Porto, researcher at CEF.UP, University of Porto, and Head of International Business at PBS-U.Porto Business School. She has M.Sc., PhD (both from the University of Reading, UK) and postdoctoral studies (U. Strathclyde) focusing on Internationalization/Foreign Direct Investment. She has also been a Visiting Professor and Visiting Research Fellow at several European and American Universities. Ana Teresa T. Lehmann has served in several executive and policy-making roles, having been recently (2008-2012) Vice-President of Portugal’s North Regional Development Authority, in charge of strategies to promote internationalization, innovation, cluster policy and international cooperation. She is a former Pro-Vice Chancellor (for Strategic Planning and Enterprise Relations) of the University of Porto. She has served on the boards of various companies and foundations, and has been also an entrepreneur/owner of a consulting firm. In the last 18 years, she has been a consultant to several institutions in Europe, Africa and the Americas such as the OECD, UNCTAD, European Commission, national and regional governments, the Portuguese Investment Agency, among others, in the fields of foreign direct investment, multinational enterprises, competitiveness, public policies, and regional development. She is the past President of the European International Business Academy (2009-2010), and currently a member of its Board and Executive Committee. She has published widely, mainly on the themes of multinational subsidiary strategies and evolution, public policies related to FDI attraction and impact of multinational enterprise activities, either in books – for instance, Multinationals, Clusters and Innovation: Does Public Policy Matter? (Palgrave, 2006), Entrepreneurship in the Global Firm (Emerald, 2012) and in scientific journals such as International Business Review, Regional Studies, Transnational Corporations, International Journal of the Economics of Business, Journal of Industry, Competition and Trade, Economía Industrial, Managerial Finance, and Journal of Global Business. She is also a regular speaker at top-level conferences and expert meetings in Internationalization and Foreign Direct investment Strategies and Policy, and on Competitiveness, Clusters and Innovation, and serves as editor for international journals on strategy and international business. She has received several awards for scientific merit and for executive career recognition.
