Católica e Planetiers lançam hub de Inovação em Sustentabilidade e Regeneração

INSURE.hub é o nome de uma nova plataforma que resulta da mobilização da Universidade Católica Portuguesa, no Porto, através das suas Faculdades - Católica Porto Business School e Escola Superior de Biotecnologia - e da Planetiers New Generation. Pretende-se criar um espaço de inovação e gestão numa perspetiva circular, com o objetivo da sustentabilidade plena (net-zero) e/ou regeneração (positive pursuits), antecipando o futuro e a adaptação aos desafios ambientais globais. O evento de lançamento do INSURE.hub decorre na tarde de 27 de outubro, na Católica no Porto, e terá igualmente transmissão online.

João Pinto, vice-presidente da Universidade Católica no Porto e docente da Católica Porto Business School, explica que “o INSURE.hub – Innovation in Sustainability and Regeneration hub tem como grande objetivo criar um ecossistema internacional vibrante de conhecimento transdisciplinar que promova soluções de negócio de âmbito circular, sustentável e regenerativo, potenciadas por tecnologias disruptivas.” A Católica no Porto associa-se assim à Planetiers New Generation, aportando um conjunto de entidades nacionais e internacionais que se constituem como líderes de pensamento e agentes de transformação para a Sustentabilidade e a Regeneração.

“A Planetiers New Generation foi criada com a ambição de desenvolver um programa de transformação para Portugal orientado pela Sustentabilidade e a Regeneração pelo que sermos parceiros do INSURE.hub é um passo natural”, refere António Vasconcelos, da Planetiers New Generation, explicando que “temos uma equipa que desenvolve estratégias de sustentabilidade há cerca de uma década, trabalhando em parceria com NGOs internacionais líderes em ação transformativa a partir de pensamento científico com mais de 30 anos de aplicação, como é o caso da The Natural Step International, nascida na Suécia.”

 

O INSURE.hub: Cocriação sectorial ou territorial e internacional em prol da sustentabilidade

“Pretendemos que o INSURE.hub se consubstancie numa iniciativa que envolve todos os stakeholders para preparar soluções em linha com as metas 2030,” salienta Manuela Pintado, diretora do Centro de Biotecnologia e Química Fina (CBQF) da Universidade Católica no Porto. António Vasconcelos, da Planetiers New Generation, explica que “o INSURE.hub irá operar num ecossistema único, de cocriação sectorial ou territorial e internacional, contando com a contribuição de peritos internacionais com experiência na implementação de processos disruptivos, circulares, sustentáveis e/ou regenerativos.”

O INSURE.hub vai atuar em quatro eixos fundamentais: apoio a empresas e clusters no desenvolvimento de negócio e novos investimentos; promoção de empreendedorismo sustentável/regenerativo; mobilização da sociedade; e formação académica.

Conferência internacional de lançamento do INSURE.hub a 27 de outubro

A 1ª Conferência Internacional de lançamento do INSURE.hub vai juntar oradores de relevo nacional e internacional da academia e do mundo empresarial para discutir as boas práticas, os desafios e as grandes oportunidades nesta área da Sustentabilidade e Regeneração. São exemplo, Edwin Janssen e Rüdiger Rhörig (Sustainable Growth Associates - The Natural Step Germany) que irão apresentar um estudo europeu efetuado às empresas sobre Sustentabilidade, Inovação e Liderança e mostrar como podem as empresas criar uma visão de futuro sustentável e regenerativo (backcasting), criando um roadmap de inovação e criação de valor para a alcançar; Tom Bregman (Future-Fit Foundation, UK) que falará sobre Future-Fit Business como uma ferramenta alinhada com o backcasting;  João Pinto (Católica Porto Business School) e Sofia Santos (Caixa de Crédito Agrícola) irão debater, com Tom Bregman (Future-Fit Foundation), o Financiamento e o investimento sustentável e regenerativo; o tema sobre a nova era dos negócios regenerativos será apresentado por John Fullerton (CEO Capital Institute, US); John Melo (CEO Amyris Inc) e Manuela Pintado (coordenadora do projeto Alchemy e diretora do CBQF/ESB/UCP) irão apresentar o case study de um dos maiores projetos europeus em biotecnologia – Alchemy; bem como outros temas.

INSURE.hub is the new platform that results from the mobilization of Universidade Católica in Porto, through its schools - Católica Porto Business School and Faculty of Biotechnology - and Planetiers New Generation. "Planetiers New Generation was created with the ambition to develop a transformation program for Portugal guided by Sustainability and Regeneration, so being partners of INSURE.hub is a natural step," says António Vasconcelos, from Planetiers New Generation. "We have a team that has been developing sustainability strategies for about a decade, working in partnership with leading international NGOs in transformative action from scientific thinking with over 30 years of application, as is the case of The Natural Step International, born in Sweden," concludes.

The INSURE.hub: Sectoral or territorial and international co-creation for sustainability

"We intend INSURE.hub to be an initiative that involves all stakeholders to prepare solutions in line with the 2030 targets," says Manuela Pintado, director of the Centre for Biotechnology and Fine Chemistry (CBQF) of Católica in Porto. António Vasconcelos, from Planetiers New Generation, explains, "INSURE.hub will operate in a unique ecosystem of sectoral or territorial and international co-creation, with the contribution of international experts with experience in the implementation of disruptive, circular, sustainable and/or regenerative processes.

INSURE.hub will act on four fundamental axes: support to companies and clusters in business development and new investments; promotion of sustainable and regenerative entrepreneurship; mobilization of society; and academic training.

International Conference to launch INSURE.hub on October 27th

The first International Conference to launch INSURE.hub will bring together nationally and internationally renowned speakers from academia and the business world to discuss best practices, challenges and great opportunities in this area of Sustainability and Regeneration: Edwin Janssen and Rüdiger Rhörig (Sustainable Growth Associates - The Natural Step Germany) who will present a European study made to companies on Sustainability, Innovation and Leadership and show how companies can create a vision of sustainable and regenerative future (backcasting), creating a roadmap of innovation and value creation to achieve it; Tom Bregman (Future-Fit Foundation, UK) who will talk about Future-Fit Business as a tool aligned with backcasting;  João Pinto (Católica Porto Business School) and Sofia Santos (Caixa de Crédito Agrícola) will debate, with Tom Bregman (Future-Fit Foundation), Financing and sustainable and regenerative investment; the theme about the new era of regenerative business will be presented by John Fullerton (CEO Capital Institute, US); John Melo (CEO Amyris Inc) and Manuela Pintado (coordinator of the Alchemy project and director of CBQF/ESB/UCP) will present the case study of one of the largest European projects in biotechnology - Alchemy; as well as other topics.
