The CBQF/LAE Research Seminar "Emerging food safety risks : the endocrine disruptors case” with Florence Dufour, honorary director of EBI, foundator of EBI and Christophe Dufour, scientific director of Merieux NutriSciences France and consultant, will take place on january 16th, at 2:00 pm, in Arménio Miranda Auditorium, in the Biotechnology Building.

 

Presentation Summary
Food industry must garanty safe, sustainable high quality food for the consumers in an evolutive world:  new supply chain issues, new consumer behaviors, evolutive legal context under the pressure of climate change challenge. In fact, existing and emerging food safety risks is a challenge for food industry in this fast changing world and has to quickly integrate new medical and scientific knowledges. The presentation will cover emerging risk issues and focus on endocrine disruptors illustrating the scientific uncertainty and the regulatory evolution.

 

Short biographical note

Florence DUFOUR
After a veterinary thesis in 1984, Florence DUFOUR has performed a PhD dedicated to nutrition physiology in Sorbonne University France in 1987. She began her career as a lecturer in nutrition Maisons-Alfort Veterinary School, and joined Eurolysine as biotech engineering researcher. In 1992, she founded the industrial biology school EBI in Cergy, Val d’Oise, France. She teaches quality management and lean since 1994. She has been expert and member of the french board of accreditation engineer programs and HCERES for 15 years. She also has actively contributed to the development of the private university Institut Polytechnique Saint-Louis, agreed by Institut catholique de Paris and Cergy University. Since 2023, she is the president of the professional union for higher education (upes). EBI general manager is Clemence Bernard since 2023, september 1st, and Florence Dufour honorary director.

 

Christophe DUFOUR
Is a doctor in veterinary medecine and currently the scientific director of Mérieux NutriSciences France. For more than 30 years he supported food industry and food laboratories for improving food safety by developping innovative testing, consulting and training solutions in the field of process validation, food safety culture , crisis management,  microbiological criteria for food , pathogen environmental monitoring.
