The European Commission is working to promote cleaner sea in the EU and worldwide. The development of a sustainable blue economy will allow to fight climate change, restore biodiversity and use marine resources in a more responsible way. Coastal and ocean industries are adapting more sustainable processes and embracing the circular economy but for this transition the development of innovative technologies is required. This webinar aims at presenting the potential of Granular Sludge processes to help coastal industries to respond to the EU’s Blue Growth Strategy. These systems represent a resource efficient solution that allow to reduce the energy and water consumption whilst ensuring food security and environmental protection.
